The facilitators's role is

to be a keen observer and engaged listener

to be a positive, respectful communicator

to be a partner in the joy of learning, mingling with children and building on their interests

to be a knowledgeable researcher

to be a model for language and social skills

to be a sounding board for children’s ideas, encouraging thinking and stretching

to allow children to be physically active and to be able to follow their own agenda

to provide the opportunity for children to investigate, transform and invent

to help children help themselves

to affirm differing points of view, feelings and ideas

to find and organize/reorganize inspiring materials

to keep the space fresh, inviting, wondrous and fun

to be aware that children are learning not only specific motor skills, but also problem-solving, self confidence and respect for others
